One of facts that is easily forgotten by those against mountain biking in Marin is the extensive and active volunteerism done by the mountain bike community every year. Access4Bikes is working on collecting more data but here are the main activities that we know about. If you know of others, please let us know !
- Tamarancho was completely built by volunteers and is maintained every winter by teams of volunteers.
- When the 680 trail was built over 680 hours of volunteer labor was used. Many of these volunteers came from the mountain bike community.
- When Marin Open Space has their trail work days to work on trails like Porcupine and White Hill, many of the volunteers cam from the mountain bike community.
