Solstice on Solstice 2025: Marin’s Downhill MTB Race Lights Up the Longest Day

On June 21st, 2025, Marin County’s trails roared to life with Solstice on Solstice— Marin’s first professionally timed downhill mountain bike race produced by Access4Bikes. Held on the longest day of the year, this black diamond event drew expert riders from across the region to tackle a 1.3-mile course packed with roots, rocks, drops, and tree-lined hazards.

🌲 The Course & Format

Racers faced the trail twice, with only their best time counting toward the podium. A new uphill-optimized climb via the “Hello Truck Trail” replaced the steep fire roads of the past, offering a shaded ascent through the trees before the adrenaline-pumping descent.

🏁 Race Day Highlights

  • Location: San Domenico School, San Anselmo, CA

  • Categories: Men 18–39, Men 40+, Women 18+, and eMTB divisions

  • Cash Prizes: $400 for 1st, $250 for 2nd, $150 for 3rd in each category

  • Podium Ceremony: Held at San Domenico Gymnasium, followed by tacos and celebration

  • After Party: Hosted by title sponsor Solstice Bike Works — free beer for racers who showed their plate!
