Our Diversity Mountain Bike Skills Clinics are Free to Attend!

A4B Advocates for Mountain Biking to Be Inclusive and Open to All Communities.

Every September, Access4Bikes sponsors and hosts 3-series of Diversity Clinics. Led by Brian Astell of Trailworks, these progressive clinics (beginner, intermediate, and advanced, held on 3 separate Saturdays) are meant to help riders progress in the fundamental skills that will improve their riding and boost confidence. Trailworks teaches cornering, getting up over objects, technical down-hilling skills, and bike handling.

The Diversity Clinics are open to those who are typically not as represented in the mountain bike community. The clinics have a Spanish-language interpreter as well as a sign-language interpreter, so those who are deaf/hard of hearing can benefit. Spots are limited, and we encourage those who are in minority/disabled communities to sign up! All clinics are free to attend, and you can join one, two, or all three!

MOUNTAIN BIKERS ARE THE SECOND LARGEST USER GROUP IN MARIN’S PUBLIC LANDS.

Surveys conducted in 2011-2012 by MMWD and MCOSD put the number anywhere from 23-30%. In the last seven years, that percentage has steadily risen.

We are happy and willing to lead the way in trail stewardship and environmental protection with our growing demographic and enthusiastic volunteer corps.
